Detangle With Care
Always detangle your hair gently, starting at the ends and working your way toward the roots.
For curly textures, we recommend detangling while the hair is damp and conditioned using your fingers, a wide-tooth comb, or a detangling brush.
Never aggressively brush through dry curls.
Keep Your Crown Moisturized
Curly and wavy extensions benefit from moisture, but more product isn't always better.
Use lightweight, moisturizing products and avoid excessive oils, heavy butters, waxes, or gels that can create buildup and weigh down the hair.
A small amount goes a long way.
Minimize Heat
Sovereign Curls extensions can be heat-styled, but frequent or excessive heat can alter the curl pattern and shorten the lifespan of your hair.
Always apply a heat protectant before using hot tools and use the lowest effective temperature needed to achieve your desired style.
Once curly hair has been repeatedly straightened or exposed to excessive heat, the original curl pattern may not completely return.
Never Sleep With Wet Hair
Make sure your extensions are completely dry before going to bed.
Sleeping on wet or damp extensions can contribute to tangling, matting, unwanted odors, and unnecessary stress on both the hair and installation.
Protect Your Hair at Night
Before bed, gently detangle your extensions and place the hair into loose braids, twists, or another low-tension protective style.
Cover your hair with a satin or silk bonnet or scarf.
A satin or silk pillowcase provides additional protection and helps reduce friction while you sleep.
Wash Day
Before Washing
Gently detangle the hair from ends to roots before getting it completely wet.
Your extensions do not need to be washed every day.
Wash when necessary based on product buildup, activity level, and how the hair feels.
Shampoo
Use lukewarm water and a gentle, moisturizing shampoo.
Allow the water to flow downward through the hair and gently work the shampoo through the strands.
Avoid aggressively rubbing, bunching, or scrubbing the hair together, as this can create tangles.
Condition
Apply a moisturizing conditioner throughout the lengths and ends.
While the conditioner is in the hair, gently detangle from the ends upward using your fingers or a wide-tooth comb.
Allow the conditioner to sit according to the product's directions before rinsing thoroughly.
Drying
Gently squeeze excess water from the hair.
Do not aggressively rub your extensions with a towel.
A microfiber towel or soft cotton T-shirt can be used to absorb excess moisture before allowing the hair to air-dry whenever possible.
For curly textures, scrunch the hair upward while damp to encourage curl definition.
Caring for Your Texture
Crown Curl — Water Wave
Crown Curl is our softest, most effortless wave pattern.
To maintain its loose, flowing definition:
- Detangle gently while damp.
- Apply a lightweight leave-in conditioner as needed.
- Use water or a water-based curl refresher to revive the pattern.
- Lightly scrunch the hair to encourage wave definition.
- Avoid heavy products that may weigh the waves down.
- Allow the hair to air-dry whenever possible.
For a softer, fuller appearance, gently separate the waves once the hair is completely dry.
Regal Curl — Deep Wave
Regal Curl features deeper, more defined waves and benefits from moisture and definition.
To maintain the pattern:
- Detangle while damp and conditioned.
- Apply a lightweight leave-in conditioner.
- Use a small amount of curl-defining product when additional definition is desired.
- Scrunch the hair upward while damp.
- Allow the waves to air-dry without excessive manipulation.
- Refresh between washes with water and a small amount of leave-in conditioner.
Avoid repeatedly brushing Regal Curl while dry, as this can disrupt the wave pattern and create unnecessary frizz.
Sovereign Curl — Kinky Curly
Sovereign Curl is our fullest, most defined texture and requires the most moisture and gentle handling.
To care for your curls:
- Divide the hair into sections before detangling.
- Detangle while damp and conditioned.
- Work from the ends toward the roots one section at a time.
- Apply a moisturizing leave-in conditioner.
- Follow with a lightweight curl-defining product when desired.
- Finger-coil individual curls that need additional definition.
- Allow the hair to air-dry or diffuse using low heat.
- Avoid brushing the curls while dry.
For maximum volume, gently separate curls after the hair has completely dried.
Coloring
Coloring Your Crown
Sovereign Curls extensions are 100% human hair and can be professionally colored.
However, chemical processing permanently alters the hair and may affect its texture, softness, curl pattern, and longevity.
We strongly recommend having extensions colored by a licensed professional experienced with human hair extensions.
Always perform a strand test before coloring the entire bundle, closure, or frontal.
Bleaching, lightening, coloring, or chemically processing your extensions is performed at your own risk.
Swimming
Swimming & Your Extensions
Sovereign Curls extensions are 100% human hair and can be professionally colored.

HD Lace Care
Caring for your lace
HD lace is delicate and should always be handled gently.
To help protect your closure or frontal:
- Avoid aggressively scratching or pulling the lace.
- Do not excessively pluck the hairline.
- Use adhesive products sparingly.
- Follow the manufacturer's directions when using lace glue or remover.
- Never forcefully remove adhesive from the lace.
- Avoid excessive heat directly on the lace.
- Gently cleanse product buildup when necessary.
When removing an installation, use an appropriate adhesive remover and allow the product enough time to break down the adhesive before lifting the lace.
Never pull or rip lace away from the skin.
Damage caused by installation, removal, excessive plucking, adhesives, coloring, or improper maintenance is not considered a product defect.
Storing Your Hair
Planning to give your crown a break?
Before storing your extensions:
- Clean the hair when necessary.
- Allow it to dry completely.
- Gently detangle.
- Place the hair in loose braids or twists to preserve the texture.
- Store it in a clean, dry place.
Never store extensions while wet or damp.
When Your Curls Need a Reset
Curls looking dry, frizzy, or less defined:
Step 1: Gently detangle the hair while damp.
Step 2: Cleanse away product buildup.
Step 3: Apply a moisturizing conditioner.
Step 4: Rinse and apply a lightweight leave-in.
Step 5: Scrunch or finger-coil the curls into shape.
Step 6: Allow the hair to air-dry with minimal manipulation.
Your crown may simply need a little attention.
Product Buildup
Sometimes your hair doesn't need replacing—it needs cleansing.
If your extensions begin to feel heavy, stiff, greasy, or less defined, product buildup may be the cause.
Reduce the amount of styling product being used and thoroughly cleanse and condition the hair.
Occasional clarifying may help remove stubborn buildup, but clarifying products can be drying and should not be overused. Follow with moisturizing conditioner..
